How to use our calculators and other information?

Follow our step-by-step guide for effective bow calibration.
Understanding FOC and velocity
FOC influences stability: Higher FOC (more weight toward the front of the arrow) increases stability in flight and helps the arrow correct itself faster after release, especially at longer distances. Velocity is affected by arrow mass: Heavier arrows (often with higher FOC) generally fly slower but retain momentum better, while lighter arrows fly faster but can be more affected by wind and inconsistencies. Balance between the two matters: Optimal performance comes from matching FOC and arrow speed to your bow setup and shooting purpose—too much FOC can reduce speed excessively, while too little can cause erratic flight.
How to use sight tapes?
Using Archery Sight Pro site tapes. Once you have sighted in your 20 -yard pin, the site tape you can print off will give you the least amount of set up. The sight tape provided will give you a great reference point for all your other pins as needed. In Pro upgrade, this should reduce your sight in time by up to 85%. If you have upgraded to Elite, with chrono and two-mark option, this could reduce your sight in time by up to 90%-95% if not more. Again, you will need to provide all necessary factor and data inputs to help with the reduction in time.
Common archery mistakes
  • Inconsistent anchor point: Changing your anchor even slightly from shot to shot leads to unpredictable groups and makes tuning nearly impossible. Poor grip and bow torque: Gripping too tightly or twisting the bow introduces sideways torque, causing arrows to drift left or right. Rushing the shot process: Many archers punch the trigger or release too quickly instead of executing a smooth, controlled shot cycle.
Tips for using the calculator
We recommend making sure you sight in your top pin first. This is usually your 20 yard pin. Once you have this pin correct. The calculator will get you 85% of the way to getting all other pins set up correctly. To set it up close to 100%, having the Elite upgrade will allow you to use your chrono or two-mark set up to get you as close to 100% of every pin set up. The calculator does not account for bad form or environmental anomolies.
